After being pulled out from the Apple App Store and Google Play Store by its creator Dong Nguyen, the surprisingly popular game Flappy Bird have had a lot of copycats prompting both Apple and Google to reject some that are obviously just copies intended to capitalize on the situation. There are, however, still a lot that slip through and some are probably becoming as popular. Well, if you love the game then you will probably appreciate the following news: There’s a real life version of Flappy Bird… in a cardboard box!
Called the Flappy Bird IRL, the clever contraption was created by Fawn Qiu using a microcontroller, a magnetic sensor (reed switch), magnets, a 9-volt battery, some circuit wires, popsicle stick, etc. and voila instant game in a box! It’s kind of refreshing to know that sometimes digital can converted to analog for a change!
And what’s even better is the fact that Fawn Qiu can teach how to do as she does! Get in touch with her over at MakeAnything.
